The Bluff Park UMC Youth Band kicked off their summer tour on May 31st in Henagar, AL (a rural community on Sand Mountain.) In addition to a great night of worship, there were also some great finds at Unclaimed Baggage in Scottsboro.
Next, they led worship at the Church of the Reconciler in downtown Birmingham. This is our conference’s ministry to the homeless. The highlight for the students was closing out the worship with a hand-clapping, foot-stomping “I Saw the Light/I’ll Fly Away” medley while accompanied by two members of Reconciler’s praise team joining us on harmonica and lead guitar.
