WELCOME TO BLUFF PARK UNITED METHODIST CHILDREN’S MINISTRY!!!
Children are a very important part of our congregation. Our goal is to help children from infancy through 5th grade with their spiritual development and well being. Because they are so important we have a Child Protection First Policy in place and require a background check on all volunteer and paid staff who work with our children.
NURSERY
A nursery is provided for all infants through age 3 for all worship services and Wednesday Midweek Activities. We also provide a nursery for special events. Our Sunday morning nursery opens at 8:30 a.m. and our Wednesday night Midweek nursery opens at 5:30p.m. Our nursery is staffed with a coordinator and a paid staff that is CPR certified.
PRESCHOOL SUNDAY SCHOOL
Sunday school for Preschoolers can be found on the back hall underneath the main sanctuary. This is for older 2’s, 3’s 4’s and 5 year olds who have not started 5K. If your child is attending the nursery while you are in church, please sign your child in at the front desk. Preschool children (3K-4K) will need to be signed in and out at the door of their Sunday School rooms.
ELEMENTARY SUNDAY SCHOOL
Our elementary Sunday school can be found on the 1st floor of our education building on the playground side of our campus. During Sunday School, we focus on a Bible story each month and learn about that story in a different way each week: science, cooking, art, etc. The last Sunday of each month is our Mission Sunday, in which the children learn to take what they have learned about the love of Jesus Christ and pour that love out into their friends, family, community, and/or the world in some specific way. Kindergarten through fifth grade must be signed in by their parents. Third grade through fifth grade may sign them selves out. Kindergarten through second grade must be signed out by a parent.
MIDWEEK MINISTRIES
We have a a great program for our children on Wednesday nights.
Dinner is from 5-6:30p.m. From 5:30-6:15, choir is offered for our Elementary children who would like to attend. From 6:15-7:00, children are invited to attend age appropriate Bible Story/Study time in the Children’s Wing of the 1st Floor. Our teachers this year will be Lori Beasley and Susan Prueter with Kindergarten and 1st graders, Carole Roegner and Betsy Britain teaching a Bible Skills Class with the 2nd and 3rd graders, and Stanley and Stephanie Davidson with the 4th and 5th graders. We end the evening with supervised games and free play in the gym or on the playground from 7:00-7:30.
Special Events
There are special events periodically for the whole family. We have Preschool Pajama Parties, Roller skating nights, filed trips, movie nights, and other activities that families can come and participate in together. These events are listed on the calendar.
