Time: Meeting on class-by-class adjusted schedules, in-person and online, due to Covid
The New Light Class was formed in November of 2004,and began as a class for the youngest “adult” members of Bluff Park. As time passed, we have grown together, celebrated the arrival each other’s children, bid farewell to members moving far away, and welcomed many new members to our group. Now, most of our members are in their 30s and 40s, most (but not all) are married, and many of the couples have children.
Many of the members of this class had never been a part of an adult Sunday School Class before, so we are all growing and learning together. We do mission work, serve on many of the boards and committees of the church, have dinner parties, outings, Girls and Guys Night, and often get together outside of the “usual” church settings. The highlights of our year include our annual Summer Party and Christmas Party, and the traditional trimming of the sanctuary and Chrismon tree before the advent season. We usually follow an open-discussion format, and we cover a wide range of topics ranging from specific books of the bible, key people in the bible, topical studies, spiritual themes in literature and music, Christian apologetics, world religions, and many others.
We average around 15-20 people each week and meet on the third floor right by the elevator. We have a sign on the door and always welcome visitors. We enjoy fellowship over snacks and coffee beginning at 9:45, and we aim to begin at 10:00.We won’t make you answer bible trivia questions or even participate!Just sit back and learn as you get to know what a great group this is.
