Prayer Shawls, Etc. is a group of about 15 women who make prayer shawls, lap blankets, baby blankets, chemo caps, and scarves for those who may need a little encouragement and comfort, and who need to know that there are people who are praying for them. We have presented hundreds of items so far.
The group meets on Mondays at 10am. (We could also have an evening group if there were enough interest.) At each meeting we chat, eat, and create! Most of us knit or crochet. We have one quilter. During the summer of 2011, we made over 500 baby blankets out of fleece. These were given to soldiers to give to their children as mementos before the soldiers were deployed in October.
